The first 15 prototypes of 5 screenprinted pillows (in 3 colors: black, brick and blue) designed by Werner Van Hoeydonck and Luisa Paumann will be presented at Maison et Objet, Paris, from 8 till 12 September 2022. This first pillow collection was created in fruitful cooperation with Azmi Merican from Kuala Lumpur (founder of AZMAS RUGS) and will be shown for the first time to the public in the boot M110 of Azmas Rugs, in Hall 5A Unique and Eclectic. SUNNY GRACE…wants to connect optimistic, shining people around the world willing to make small, but necessary changes in society. Pillows but also rugs and artworks are perfect canvases and conversation openers reminding us of timeless values that are needed more than ever to slowly transform societal structures and the way we live on this planet.
The artworks on our pillows are original compositions and new interpretations of archaic, fertile motifs created in ancient cultures by artists sensing a strong connection to nature, a bound that is to be re-inforced if we want to protect the earth.
The names of the artworks on our pillows speak for themselves: Whistle – Connect – Protect- Care – Shine, eternal values, symbolising the message Sunny Grace as a brand wants to convey.
The pillows are screenprinted on both sides, with seemless flip-overs of the colours, giving them a true 3D effect as well as intricate figure-ground relationships. The zip is discrete and hidden. They are screenprinted and stitched in India under supervision of Aditya Ahuja https://adityaahuja.com/, shipped to Vienna and from Vienna sent out to you.
Prices will vary between 30 and 60 Euro a pillow, depending on quantity. Pre-orders are possible untill the end of october. Inserts are not part of the deal, we recommend inserts of size 56 x 56 cm up to 60 to 60 cm, slightly larger than the fabric (50,8 x 50, 8cm or 20 x 20 Inches).
